Life being a bum - a surfing bum that is

I’m on holidays, yay! It’s so wicked how christmas just happened to fall on a Thursday this year. I’m taking 3 days annual leave but end up getting 9 consecutive days off. Problem is, I haven’t had a holiday in so long I just don’t know what one actually does when they’re on holiday. Just so happens that my best mate Devon is headed up to the beach for a few days and so I tagged along with him.

Went up to Waipu Cove - 1hr 45mins North of Auckland. All I do here is wake up; eat breakfast; go for a surf; eact lunch; chill out and digest; go for another surf; eat dinner; watch movie and go to sleep and then start all over again in the morning. I feel like i’m just living the life of a homeless bum (apart from the homeless part) lol ;) 

I seemed to have hardwired my brain to just not even think about relaxing so It’s been a hard transition into a holiday life, but a few days into it now, I’m totally lovin it. I’m still thinking about work, and feel rather unproductive, but catching a wave makes me leave all that behind. So with that, i’m off to catch another wave (hopefully)..

Update: Finally remebered to take a pic - on the day I was leaving when the surf had almost completely died down :( 

To do a Masters degree or not?!? o_O

After 5 long years, I finished my Bachelor of Engineering with Honors degree. Considering I pretty much worked and studied for the last 3 years I feel kind of robbed of a typical uni student life. And I know I could have gotten top marks easy if it wasn’t for the pretty much full-time work always in the way, so I feel I might as well give it another shot… and make the most of uni this time while i’m at it. But I can’t afford to stop working (nor do I really want to), so even if I go back for Masters, can it ever be all I want and hope it could be?!? Arghh the dilema

I was just casually checking my email today as you do and I just happened to hear from another turtle lover. This is what he/she emailed me:

Hey saw that turtles rock your world and well just for your info I love turtless more than anyone else in the world. I scream when I see a turtle or even a picture of one do you? You may think i’m crazy and that answer is yes I am crazy about turtles because I LOVE TURTLES. Please don’t email me back with your crap and beside I gave you the wrong email.

AHAHAHA I just couldn’t stop lauging for so long after I read this - it still cracks me up. Whoever ever you are anonymous person thanks for taking the time out to let me know how much you LOVE turtles. I can’t say I scream when I see a turtle or even a picture of a turtle but good for you!! But i’m sorry but I think turtles rock way more than you do, so there..! kidding lol Thanks for the dropping the comment again fellow turtle lover.

Final few days of my Bachelors degree

Exams are such a drag… I’m currently supposed to be studying for my last exam, but I’m writing this post instead. It is a well known fact that studying for your last exam is always the hardest. To make matters worse I only have one exam this semester so it also happens to be my last exam!!! The hardest part is getting started though and I think as soon as I have finished writing this post I’ll start! I’ve been telling that to myself since this afternoon and it’s almost mid-night now! Ah well, I’m sure i’ll get there hopefully sooner rather than later!

Weather update: Still Raning!!!

When will it end… Arghhh! I’m seriously about to jump off a bridge! On a lighter note though, it’s friday tomorrow… woot! Just thought i’d complain before I head home in the rain and wind for the 10th day in a row! This is turning into a weather blog but blame it on the rain not me! Not a lot happens when it’s pouring down with winds gusting about 24/7 *sigh*. Anyhow checkout this vid: never fails to cheer me up.

It’s been raining FOREVER!!!

All this rain is seriously depressing! I can’t even remember the last time I actually saw some sunshine =( If you’re not in New Zealand right now then you probably won’t know that were in some pretty crappy stormy weather for about a week now. Apparently the worst one in 10 years! As you can see form the pic below the end of this weather is unforseeable in the sfort term! Funny thing is though that if it was no cloud in sight, blue skies for a week I’d find that just as depressing.

Why the heck is it that we always want what we don’t have?! Or is it just me? Maybe too much of a good thing can also be a bad thing in large doses. Just like medicine. Apparently all most medicine is toxic to some extent so even though it fixes you up when you’re down, have too much and BAM! You’ll be down for the count! =P Anyhow I just want some freakin sunshine yo. My Vitamin D levels are at an all time low and another week at this rate who knows how that might affect me! (Yes i’m really self centered at times ) Wonder if there is such a thing as a “Sundance”?

Hope you have a better week to look forward to than I. This is whats in store for me (pic below). The sun seems to show itself just enough to get your hopes an and the crashing back down as it starts pouring down again (according to the forecast anyway). I’m all for staying home watching a DVD kind of weather but it’s almost been over a week now and I’ve run of movies that I’d like to watch and also exhausted my funds for spending $$ on movie hires.. can it get anymore tragic! LOL ^_^
